Salem Burning

after having this amazing stock image in my favorites for so long i finally managed to something worth showing with it. 

Since i was little ive been fascinated by Salem and the witch trials that occured there. I began reading a book called The Delusion of Satan, and have many more to follow in its wake. One of my favorite stories was The Crucible by Arthur Miller, and the movie became a staple in my house for a long time. 

It took me hours to get the flames looking right, and i know i still have some work to do before ive mastered the technique, but all in all im really happy with how this came out. the original stock image i used had good detail when zoomed in, and after some painting and shadowing i managed to bring that out a bit more, which REALLY pleased me. 

I hope anyone who sees this enjoys it. i stayed up until 2am finishing this haha.
